Bawdy Buccaneers Family Show

The Seafaring Family Show: This show is for the entire family, and what makes it even more exciting is you become part of the Picaroon Princess Crew! Join Captain Lance D. Boyle and his First Mate Truly Scrumptious as they perform traditional sea shanties and songs for your listening pleasure. A fun filled show that will have you smiling, singing and dancing! The Stolen Oldies Show...well they are Pirates aren't they?

So if they should steal, or let's say "borrow" some music for your entertainment pleasure with a piratical twist, well so be it!

Join the Bawdy Buccaneers as they take you on a musical journey off, off, off really off Broadway. They will bring show tunes, and oldies like, "The Seas are Alive with the Sound of Pirates", "A Grazing Mace", “Thank God I’m A Pirate Boy” to an all time low.

Bizarre Bazaar

So, you ask, what did people do in ye olden days for fun...why they used what they had, and practiced useful skills!

Come have some fun with household edibles, and pelt the insulter at Tomatoe Paste. Not sure of your aim? Bring Mum and Dad, or even big brother and sister along to defend your honor! No Nerf ball available to play with? Why, just pick up a frog and practice your skills with a historically accurate catapult replica! Have some fun storming the castle! Practice your medieval extermination skills in Splat the Rat - only you can prevent plague outbreaks! Even perfect your aim with a faerie themed ring toss game. Win whimsical prizes while perfecting your battle skills with a replica crossbow. There are even games for the littlest knight and knightess in training. Blacksmithing Demonstrations

Watch as our village blacksmiths do what they do with fire and steel. Throughout the day, they will be demonstrating their craft. Feel free to ask questions...they don't bite.

Court Dance

Once the days drama is done, celebrate the victors and commiserate with the losers at this demonstration of traditional court dances. But be prepared, you might find yourself dancing along with the Queen herself!

The Blog Show

You'll laugh your head off as singing executioner, Blog, sings hilarious parodys to popular tunes. Enjoy "At the Block", "MICKEY MOUSE" and other favorites that cut right to the chase.

Dueling Fools

Rocco and George are The Dueling Fools, a comedy sword-fighting show. They're not talking about a couple giggles and some clanging of swords. Oh NO! They deliver antics that make a large majority of their audiences laugh so hard that they break out in song! And their swordplay is so spectacular that it has the rest of the audience singing back up vocals with 'oohs' and 'ahs.'

Hitting & Stabbing Emporium

Axes, Daggers, and Spears - Oh my! Test your skill at arms with a variety of ancient weapons: crossbows, throwing weapons, archery, and much more. Release your inner warrior in our Hitting & Stabbing Emporium. [Fees apply]

I.B Spies: School of Espionage

BEWARE! There are spies in the realm, and if you manage to find the infamous Ivan and Bianca, here at the Hebron Fairgrounds, they may entreat you to lessons on the super secret craft of spying. Train your skills of sneaking, whispering, disguise, and even develop your own scary theme music (a must for any solid villain. Compete in SPY GAMES, hear stories, and enroll in New England's greatest School of Espionage. I. B. Spies! Forgive the grammar.

Conveniently enough the entire course can be taught in one day, who knew? Terrific experience for the little master spies of your household. See you there!

Living History Encampment

The mercenaries and women of Das Geld Fähnlein invite you to stop by throughout the day to witness them as they go about their daily tasks. Many skills are shown throughout the day, and there are scheduled demonstrations for the following:

Battlefield Medicine - watch and learn as our surgeon explains the methods used to diagnose and treat illnesses and injuries, from bloodletting to amputation!

Cooking - an army marches on its stomach and ours is no exception! The women of the unit cook all morning long, but will take some time out of their schedule to talk about the ingredients and methods in use.

Military Drill - the pikemen and musketeers of Das Geld Fähnlein take the field each afternoon to demonstrate the commands and techniques of 16th century battlefield weapons. This one is certain to end with a bang!

Mandrake's Mystery

Get a clue! No, really... Grab your clue sheet at the Faire entrance and get ready to take a whacky ride through the Fairegrounds that will have you interacting with dozens of performers! Hunt for clues. Rule out the fluff and find the facts. Become a detective in this wild game of living clue.

Come be delighted by the stunning three-part harmonies of this new vocal trio! Maythorn presents two ballad shows putting traditional and original ballads into their own exciting arrangements. Also come for the lively French show, featuring up-beat songs from Pascuau's native country–in French and the Langue d'Oc. Maythorn's shows are all harmony, all the time!

Mercenary Encampment

Come and see life amongst mercenaries in 1528! Das Geld Fähnlein recreates a military encampment from the early 16th century with displays of the skills and life of a Landsknecht unit - Bavarian soldiers of the Holy Roman Empire - and members in the baggage train. Stop by to see the soldiers practicing their skills, dinner being cooked over an open fire, or to play games of chance with members of the unit. Enjoy the fruits of careful research and preparation undertaken by us for your education and entertainment. Each member of the unit portrays a 16th century person eager to tell you about their life on the road as a soldier or camp follower!

Knights beating the heck out of each other on foot and on horseback. What can be better than that?

Pope & Cardinal

The Pope and Cardinal have made their home at the CTRF fall festival, and continue to charm new members of their flock with their particular brand of off-beat irreverent humor. Join saintly but confused Pope Urbino and smarmy assistant Cardinal Claudio in a series of specialty shows throughout the festival day. Whether it's taking in their SINGALONG comedy music show, or acting in a improvised bible story or joining in a very Catholic game of Bingo, The Pope and Cardinal are heavenly entertainment!

Tortuga Twins

Join in the laughter during this hysterical comedy routine as two twin brothers search for their long lost sister.

Royal Knighting Ceremony

Since most of his knights are busy elsewhere, scouring the countryside for new knights to join Arthur's fabled round table, King Arthur and Queen Guinevere have decided to seek out new knights from the visiting children today! Give your child a firsthand look at what it takes to be a noble knight or accomplished Lady in King Arthur's Court! Only one show a day!

Royal Parade

All the colorful and exciting characters, musicians, acts and merchants at the CTRF fall festival are represented together in one magnificent procession through the street and byways of our medieval village. Find a place by the side of the road and watch the renaissance world pass you by in all it's splendor! The perfect picture taking opportunity!

Sheriff Bracken

Hast thou grown tired of justice as usual? Believe it or not, the law can be quite tedious, even to peasants. Well there be a new Sheriff in town, who strives to bring more excitement to the trial process by dispensing justice in a festival-like atmosphere for the amusement of all, especially his own.

Join Sheriff Bracken as he delivers his own unique brand of justice to the stages and streets of Caer Leon.

Soldier School

Have you ever wanted to know what it is like to be a soldier in a Renaissance army? Those between the ages of 6 and 14 are encouraged to come to the Mercenary Encampment each day at to learn all about it. Make a hat, enjoy a snack, and drill with the mercenaries of Das Geld Fähnlein before marching around the faire to show off for everyone! After completion, each soldier receives a certificate, a medallion, and, of course, the hat they made.

A $10 fee per child applies.

Drenched Wenches

Two dirty girls have come to clean up our village! Join budding royal laundresses Rose Waters and Daisy Fresh for a show dripping with song and bawdy humor. You'll laugh, you'll applaud, you might even get a little wet. RATED PG-13

Commedia Mania, is a show of laughs, masks, slapstick, and shameless theatrical nonsense! The troupe returns this year to Connecticut to tell the tales of Don Juan, The New Wife, The Great Scottish Comedy MACBETH, and The Refractory Container Made of Clay! What does that even mean? Does anybody know? Really now, we're asking you- And scene! Now, come see why Commedia dell Arte has been one of the strongest influences in the world of entertainment for centuries!

The Jayna Lee Show

Jayna Lee is the girl next door who just happens to juggle torches! This year, she's brought something brand new for our festival; a trapeze! Come and join Jayna for a variety show including juggling, contortion, stilt-walking, fire eating, and aerial artistry. Enjoy a light-hearted sense of humor, exciting skills, and crazy stunts suitable for the whole family.

The King's Feast

Join your hosts, the Pope and Cardinal, for two delicious hours of food, friends, and laughter at this one-weekend-only special event! From 1:30pm to 3:30pm on October 20 & 21 the King’s royal kitchens will delight you with a lavish multi-course meal hot from the oven. While you dine the best entertainment the festival has to offer will perform original material not seen at the faire itself. Funny, raunchy, and frequently unexpected, the King’s Feast is a sure hit with world class entertainment.

Wonderfool Death Defying Show

World Renowned entertainer Joel Newlon brings his daredevil comedy show to The Connecticut Renaissance Faire. With zany comedy, and stunts not done by anyone else on earth! This show is a must see for the whole family!

Raised by howler monkeys in the jungles of South Florida, WonderFool has been a full time comedian and entertainer since 2000. He has toured the United States extensively and is no longer welcomed in Iowa (long story). He owns the WonderFool death defying comedy show, a one of a kind daredevil show that has been proven to cause hair loss in laboratory mice. WonderFool lives in Lake Worth with his imaginary friends and is very proud to make his living as an entertainer. Furthermore, he feels that toilet paper should feed from the top of the roll...not the bottom!

Tim & Vicki

Here the soothing sounds of Tim & Vicky as they wander the shire playing fiddle, flute, hammered dulcimer and many more instruments of the time. They can be found playing along with the Harvest Pole Dance, at their mini-stage along Goodliffe Boulevard or roaming the streets of the village!

Bring Your Pet Weekend

Bring your dog, lizards, snake, parrot or other small pet to our Pet weekend on the closing weekend of our show. Admission for your pet is free when you donate two cans of pet food. All dogs must be registered at the front gate before entry. You are responsible for the actions of your pet. Please bring means to pick up after your pet and provide it food/water.
