What is The Connecticut Renaissance Faire?
The Connecticut Renaissance Faire is an enchanted recreation of an old world harvest fair as one might have been in the Middle Ages. Costumed performers wander the streets interacting with guests, craft shops line the streets selling unique wares and eight stages run continuous entertainment throughout the day. The Faire is a great place to share the day with your family and friends.

How long does it take to see everything at the Faire?
All the Faire is a stage and it can take up to six full days to watch all of our stage performances. Add to this shopping in New England’s largest Medieval Marketplace and you’ve got quite an adventure ahead of you. Many of our guests stay at least five hours to catch all their favorite shows before heading back to the future.

Does The Connecticut Renaissance Faire perform in other locations?
Yes. Our Faire has two performances each year: The Robin Hood Springtime Festival in Guilford, Connecticut and King Arthur’s Fall Harvest Faire in Hebron, Connecticut. Throughout the country there are over 170 Renaissance Faires and Festivals. We're the one of the largest Renaissance Faires in New England.

What happens if it rains?
The Connecticut Renaissance Faire is open rain or shine unless the weather becomes so serious we choose to close for safety concerns. You can escape inclement weather in any of our craft shops. Some performances may be delayed or cancelled due to dangerous performing conditions.

Can I take pictures?
Yes, however commercial photography without express written permission from Faire Management is forbidden. Photographic permission for personal use is granted. All guests of the Faire (whether paid or free) grant permission for their photograph to be used in our collateral materials.

Can I bring my pet?
No. Pets are not allowed on site EXCEPT for our "Bring Your Pet Weekend". See Themed Weekends Page for details. Service animals are always welcome. The ADA defines a service animal as "any guide dog, signal dog, or other animal individually trained to provide assistance to an individual with a disability". Pet companions are not considered service animals and will be denied access at the gate except on pet weekend.

If we leave the Faire can we come back in?
Yes. Just make sure to get your hand stamped on your way out. When you return to the Faire show your hand stamp to the gate crew and they'll let you in. You cannot re-enter the faire after we close.

Do you accept credit cards?
No. The Connecticut Renaissance Faire does not accept credit cards for admission. Many of our merchants accept credit cards, but plan on having cash ready for food and drink plus parking. There are ATM machines available at our entry gate.

How much money should we bring?
The amount you bring depends on the types of things you like to purchase and how long you plan to stay. Plan to bring $10 - $20 per person for food and drink throughout the day. Games cost between $1 - $3 and you can find souvenirs starting as low as $1.

Does it cost extra to watch the shows?
No. All shows are included with your admission.
