10 Easy Ways to Spread the Word About the Faire
It’s that time again and we’ve been getting emails from enthusiastic fans asking, “What can I do to help spread the word about the Faire?” Thank you for your support of community theater and the performing arts! Here are some easy ways you can spread the word without even leaving your house. Just pick and choose the options that come easiest to you:

1 – EMAIL SIGNATURE
Change your email signature for a month or two prior to the opening of the show. Every time you send an email you’ll effortlessly be sharing us. Here are some signature file ideas to consider, but use whatever works best for you:

2 – INVITE FRIENDS & FAMILY
Ask your friends or family members if they’d like to attend the Faire with you. Take charge and lead a group outing they’ll be thanking you for taking them on. Invite them face-to-face, through email, or even via Facebook.

3 – LIKE US ON FACEBOOK
If you’re on Facebook and not one of our fans, you’re missing out on insider information, contests to win free tickets, and a growing community of enthusiasts who share a similar interest. Join today.


4 – INVITE FRIENDS & FAMILY TO OUR FAN PAGE
Use the SEND button below to invite your friends and family to our [Facebook Fan Page]. Now they’ll have chances to win free tickets, too!

5 – BLOG OR FACEBOOK POSTS
Post about the Faire at areas you hang out whether it is your own blog, LiveJournal, Facebook, MySpace, Yahoo Groups, etc. Please keep the post personal and casual. This is a grassroots effort to spread the word about the Faire and not a sales pitch, so please keep it friendly. Here is a suggested post:

Hey everyone! Just wanted to let you know the Connecticut Renaissance Faire runs weekends from SEPT 24 to OCT 16, 2011. They’re asking for help to spread the word about the show and I think we should because ____________________. Learn more at www.ctfaire.com.

The best posts are ones where you talk about what you enjoy about the Faire and invite friends and family to check out your link to the show.

6 – WRITE BACK TO EMAILS & POSTS
Dig through your emails you’ve received in the past month or so related to local activities and things to do. Reply to the email and send a quick note to the editor about the Faire. If your friends post on the internet looking for something fun to do, suggest the Faire.

7 – TWEET ABOUT THE FAIRE
If you have Twitter consider [following us] there. Be sure to mention #ctfaire every few days for a month prior to the opening of the show.

8 – DO YOU HAVE A WEBSITE?
Consider posting links to our website using a standard text link or one our graphical link shown below. Mentioning ctfaire.com on your website is guaranteed to bring traffic to your site as people search the internet for information about the Faire.

9 – WRITE A REVIEW
Visit our Facebook Fan Page to [Write a Review] about the Faire. While you are there, consider using the “Recommend this Place” link on the right side of the page. If you have a [YELP] account, we encourage you to write a review of the show there. If you are a regular Yelp user, your reviews can help us rank higher there.

10– CALENDAR LISTINGS
Use information from our calendar listing document on our [press kit] page to post calendar listing information on event/activity websites.

11– POSTERS
If you have a printer, consider printing our 8.5 x 11 poster. Post it at work, school, grocery stores, gas stations or other high traffic areas.
