Abracadabra! Magic awaits!
Step into a world of magic at the Connecticut Renaissance Faire’s “Wizard Weekend.” Shop for enchanted and mystical goods and find the perfect item that chooses you. Join us for a weekend of spellbinding experiences and memorable moments.
Saturday
Wizard House Meetup & Sorting: Join us at the Pirate Cove just before 11:00 am to be sorted into your houses and begin participating in our Harry Potter Trivia Contest.
A member of the Ministry of Magic will be at the Grove Stage at the conclusion of each edition of the Sisters Pendragon show. Find them and ask for a trivia question.
There are four categories you can choose from:
- BEGINNER (worth 1 point)
- OWLS (worth 2 points)
- NEWTS (worth 3 points)
- AUROR (worth 5 points)
If you answer your question correctly, you get a chance to answer a BONUS QUESTION on various witches and wizards from other stories, worth 10 points for your house!
Keep your points with you until 4:45pm. At that time, meet at the Grove Stage for the final round and collection of points.
If you need to leave earlier, you may turn in your points at any of the scheduled trivia rounds at the Grove Stage.
Wizard Costume Contest: Please join us for our Wizard Costume Contest, where we welcome all wizards, both young and old, to show the audience how a wizard should dress for the occasion.

Harry Potter Cosplay Costume Contest: Whether you’re from Gryffindor, Hufflepuff, Ravenclaw, or Slytherin, all houses of Hogwarts are welcome to compete in this cosplay costume contest.
Meet the Author: Each day of our show, we schedule a new up-and-coming fantasy author. Buy a book, get it signed, join their fan club, and grab a selfie to show you were there. See who the author is for a given day in the Guests Merchants section of our Shops page.
Contest Info: All contests occur on the Sovereign Stage at 2:45 pm. Unless otherwise mentioned, the Faire includes these events with your same-day admission. If you are planning to enter a contest, please arrive 10-15 minutes before starting. At the discretion of the contest host, some events may choose to limit the number of participants in a particular contest due to time restrictions.
